Ashley Coleman, Ph.D.
Ashley joined Dr. Oliveros’ Regulation and Resilience Lab in August 2015, with a B.A. in Psychology from Mercer University, and interested in researching the relationship between emotion regulation and the development of externalizing behaviors. Her master’s thesis focused on assessing the adaptiveness of emotion regulation styles or classes, based on the components of strategy use, flexibility, and emotionality. For her dissertation, Ashley used person-centered analysis to examine profiles of emotion regulation strategies and their associations with mental health symptom ratings. She completed her doctoral internship with MSU Student Counseling Services and her PhD in 2020. Dr. Coleman now works as the Counseling & Psychological Services' Assessment Coordinator at University of Arkansas.
