Jenna Russo
Jenna joined Dr. Oliveros’ Regulation and Resilience Lab as a doctoral student in August 2020. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology with a minor in Cognitive Sciences from the University of Central Florida in 2019. While in Florida, she worked in the Understanding Young Children and Families Research Clinic with Dr. Kimberly Renk. Jenna is interested in examining how risk and protective factors, both on individual and familial levels, influence developmental trajectories following adverse life events. A central focus of her research is understanding the intergenerational transmission of trauma, including the roles of parenting behaviors, family risk, and community systems. Her master’s thesis examines the impact of a training intervention designed to improve effective responses to child behavior and reduce burnout risk among child-serving professionals.
